March 10, 1935
Born in United Kingdom Nottingham on March 10, 1935.
December 27, 1954
Elizabeth married Thomas Tomlinson, a young petty officer in the Royal Navy who also came from Nottingham and whom she had met some years earlier at a dance. The wedding went ahead during Tom's leave , despite being only two weeks after the death of her elder brother , Allan  - but eveyone agreed that it should go ahead as it would have been his wish.

Elizabeth gave birth to their only daughter, Jayne Elizabeth
October 1961

Betty and Jayne went to join Tom in Malta, where he was based. 

April 1962
Betty and Jayne returned to the UK ahead of Tom and his ship. They went to live in Portsmouth in (eventually) a new Naval house on Normandy Road, Hillsea - not far from their friends, the Doran family.
October 1965
Betty, Tom and Jayne left Portsmouth for Bushbury in Wolverhampton, where Tom did a teacher training course after leaving the navy. During this time, Betty worked for the WRVS in the kitchens - occassionally going out with the vans delivering the meals to the old folks.  
October 1, 1966
On the move again, Betty and Tom bought their first home at 27 Marlpit Lane in Sutton Coldfield . Tom started as a college lecturer at Sutton Coldfield college, Jayne went to Little Sutton Primary and Betty stayed at home with their cocker spaniel Lance and being a wonderful homemaker (as she always was). She later went to work part time in the local grocery store.  
February 1970
After Tom had finished a Masters course at Birmingham University, he was offered a managers job at John Player and Sons back in Nottingham. Betty and Tom bought a bigger house at 1 Stella Avenue, Tollerton. Betty learned to drive and soon after got another part time job in the local grocery store.
May 1975
Betty, Tom and Jayne moved to another house in the village (Burnside Grove).
July 1, 1977

Betty started working at John Player and Sons , where Tom and Jayne also worked. She was to work their for nearly 10 years and made many friends.

October 1979
Jayne moves to London.
September 1980
Yet another house move - this time to Elizabeth's last house, 33 Manor close, Edwalton (just up the road).
October 1981
The family go on a narrow boat holiday with sister Irene, Ian and the boys, Frazer and David.
July 1, 1984
Betty, Tom, Jayne and friend Helen, go on holiday to the canals of Holland - just before Jayne starts a degree at Matlock, Derbyshire.
June 26, 1990
Birth of Betty and Tom's first grandchild - Sophie  Elizabeth
December 18, 1998
Second granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth is born
July 20, 2000
Third granddaughter, Freya Elizabeth is born
October 27, 2001
Jayne marries Paul Fletcher at West Bridgford registry office, followed by a blessing at the local church (Holy Rood).
January 17, 2003
Grandson, Thomas Albert is born

Family first aware of Betty's illness whilst staying with her (Tom in hospital)
December 27, 2004
Betty and Tom celebrate their 50th (Golden) wedding anniversary, surrounded by family and friends.
February 2006
Betty makes her last trip abroad (to Spain) with Tom, before returning and entering hospital.
April 28, 2006
Passed away in Queens Medical Centre , Nottingham on April 28, 2006
